Using a Hands-On Lab
Access labs in your AppSecEngineer course, review objectives and instructions, start and complete tasks in a preconfigured environment, track time, and save your progress for applied security learning
Follow these steps to effectively use a hands-on lab:

Log in to the User Portal:
- Access the learning platform and sign in with your credentials.

Navigate to the Course:
- Open the course that includes the lab you want to use.
- Labs are typically located after specific video lessons in the course content.

Access the Lab Section:
- Find the lab in the course module.
- Click on the lab to view its details.

Review the Lab Overview and Rules:
- Read the Overview to understand the objectives of the lab.
- Go through the Instructions carefully to familiarize yourself with the tasks.
- Note the Prohibited Activities to ensure compliance with platform guidelines.

Start the Lab:
- Click the Start Lab button to initiate the lab environment.
- A timer will start, indicating the duration available for the lab.

Access the Lab Environment:
- Click the Access Lab button to enter the interactive lab environment.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to begin the tasks.

Work Through the Lab Tasks:
- Complete the tasks as per the instructions provided.
- Use the pre-configured tools, environments, and resources in the lab.

Monitor Your Time:
- Keep an eye on the timer to ensure you complete the lab within the allocated time.

End the Lab:
- Once you finish, click the End Lab button to exit.
- Ensure all progress is saved, if applicable.
